Exciting days in PP!!!

Thank you to all the parents who have met with Alison and I for the parent interviews. An apology to those who had their meeting cancelled, we are able to meet at the same time in week 10. Thank you for your understanding.

There are a lot of special things happening next week......please read on to find out!!!

Alphabet Celebration Day.
We have nearly finished reviewing all the letters of the alphabet.  This gives cause for a celebration!
So on next Wednesday the 5th of April we will have our Alphabet Celebration Day.
We ask parents to help the children to select their favourite letter of the alphabet (we suggest that you guide them to one that they may have trouble recalling) and based on that letter do the following;
1. Come to school dressed up as something that begins with that letter.
2. Make a display poster about that letter.  This poster should have the letter clearly displayed and pictures on things that have that initial sound.  These pictures can be hand drawn, cut out from magazines or printed from the computer.  Labels can be written on the pictures.  You are welcome to include anything else on the poster that begins with that letter that you can find.  Eg.  If doing 's' a cliplock bag of seeds. The children should complete as much as this as possible themselves.
If you need poster paper then ask the teachers.

During the course of the day the children will have opportunity to describe their costume and their reasons for selecting that letter sound.  They will also present their poster and share what they have compiled.

We will also need 6 parent helpers on the day. 9.00am - 11.00am let Mrs Leahy or Mrs Martin know if you are available please.

Pre Primary Easter Bonnets
Next week all the children in the school will be involved in Easter Paraliturgies.  The Year One to Year Six  students will dramatize scenes from the Easter  Story.  The Pre primary children will watch these each morning. On Friday afternoon we will have the Easter Egg Raffle draw.  Before this the Pre's will parade with their Easter Bonnets.
We will make our Easter Bonnets on Thursday the 6th of April. We ask parents to send in a bag of goodies to make and decorate a bonnet with. Coloured paper, ribbon, lace, artificial flowers, glitter, gems, bunnies, chickens and eggs all look great on our bonnets.  Raid your craft boxes at home or The Reject Shop and Hooly Doolies have lots of bits and pieces that can be used. The children will need something to use as a hat  base.  An old hat from home, an ice cream container, a box, a headband.... Whatever you  can find.
Please put all your bits and pieces in a plastic bag, write your child's name on the bag and bring it to school on Monday next week.
We will also need about 4 mums or dads to help us on the morning between 9am and 11am.

Easter Egg raffle Don't forget to put an Egg or a Bunny in the raffle collection box and importantly to fill in your tickets and put your money and the stubs in an envelope and return to the office.  There will be lots of chances for your little people to win a prize.

Here are some photos of our action packed week doing yoga and iceberg experiments.
 This link will send you to the time lapsed video we took of our ice berg melting....check it out!!
